Hello Lovely!
Baby and I are up in DC this week to hang out with my family and meet with some gorgeous clients – the cherry blossoms are in peak bloom, the world is coming back to life and it is glorious!
If you hopped on Periscope with me last Saturday just before baby and I hopped on the plane, you heard me chat about the importance of preparing for travel – and heard me ask for your prayers for a smooth first flight with an infant! The great news is that the flight was very smooth, though baby did decide halfway through with much fanfare that she would like to wear a different outfit to greet my family at the airport, and gave me an excellent reason to change her, haha!
We discussed my journey to Nice nearly 8 years ago now, and how my lack of preparation for that trip led to some serious ups and downs with my body.
Suffice it to say, preparation is nearly everything!
And now that I know what my body needs, and how to meet those needs in all kinds of different cultures, travel – and life itself – is so much smoother and more pleasant!
In the years since that fateful trip, I have learned exactly how to avoid ‘lifestyle naiveté’ and ‘diet fantasies’ and what the critical elements are for a lifestyle shift that works – and lasts for a lifetime.
This is what I talk about in ‘Lesson 1’ of our Nice blog series – ‘My Failed French Diet and How to Create a Lifestyle Shift that Lasts.’
If you have ever tried to box yourself into a cookie cutter diet or workout plan that didn’t last, and you beat yourself up about it or gave up, this is for you! Read through it, and then join me again this Saturday on Periscope @JackieDixonVLX to chat about your reactions and any questions. I’ll be talking more specifically about my various other diet fantasies over the years and why they never worked! And of course, what finally did.
This was such a pivotal trip for me; one I look back on fondly and yet as you would a younger version of yourself who knew so much less. So journey back with me, and then come tell me what you think this Saturday! I would love to hear from you! 🙂
Love and freedom to you beautiful,
Jackie
P.S. Check out last Saturday’s Periscope and my attempts to juggle an infant and an iPhone below! 🙂
