I have to admit, I am a little bit (ok, a lot!) in love with the Ritz.
I don’t always get to stay there, but I love to find a nearby location when we travel or close to home and retreat there to write, drink tea, or just take in a gorgeous lobby and be inspired by the highest levels of service.
It is also my favorite place to take clients for gorgeous, restorative in-person intensives.
I’ve had the Ritz Carlton credit card since the end of last year, and adding up those points with my little pots of tea can’t hurt! A girl can dream, right? 😉
So when I found out there was a Lake Tahoe location, I threw the littles in the car and up into the mountains we went!
The resort is perched on an overlook with a stunning view of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The road there is winding and you feel a little like you’re driving up to the Beauty and the Beast’s castle!
The lobby is on multiple levels and winds around this magnificent monolith of a stone fireplace, with windows on all sides and plenty of seating to take in the various gorgeous views.
(Psst: find our outfit details at the bottom of this post!)
We picked a little bench and chair table by a huge window with a flawless mountain vista.
I ordered a pot of mint tea, and they brought waters and snacks for me and the baby!
I love the little succulent centerpieces!
After our snack, we headed out into the ‘Backyard’ – which reminded me of the Ritz Plantation in Georgia where one of my bridesmaids was married a few years ago.
There’s tons of open space, lots of outdoor games, and a big fire pit where they made s’mores as evening approached!
Juliette found the bocce balls – she is so obsessed with round objects – I think we have a future basketball/volleyball/soccer player on our hands!
There were picnic tables and chairs all around, so I got to relax while she discovered some massive pinecones and sorted the Connect 4 rings by color!
The view of the ski lifts and mountain range from the Backyard was just as glorious – such an inspiring place to chill!
The pool was just to the left of this picture, so swimmers get to indulge in the scene as well!
Many hours later, I pried a very tired Juliette away from all of her fun and we packed up and headed home. The sun was coming through the trees and I had to capture this pic!
Then, back down the mountain to find Dad and dinner.
Till the next Ritz, the next time!
xoxo,
